The point of the check engine light is to tell you the computer has detected something wrong, and you should find out what it is...it's a function of the car.
Go to a dealership, or any competent mechanic and get them to pull the code that the computer generates along with the light. That'll tell you what's wrong.

I used to work at Toyota and there are more than 100 reasons why your check engine light would go on...I'd say bring it in to a license mechanic (if you can't afford Toyota) and get them to check it.

if you can get the code i can tell you what it means... (i have the service software...)
otherwise get a mechanic to check it, or if you have another ride... take it apart and figure it out :P

go to advanced auto--they'll give you a print out AND what it means there.
If it's the cold air intake--take the piece needed from your stock airbox for it so it's reading your intake correctly. Ask me if you don't know what I'm talking about. If you can't hit lift anymore it's possible a lift bolt (flange bolt) broke or needs repairing... those things suck and only cost about 2 bucks for the new pair from toyota--but if you get toyota to change them they'll charge you about 400 labor. Just hope the bolt didn't tear up your internals (if it broke off).
