Anoying cracking noise coming from sunroof panels

Guys,
I took my celica 3 times to the dealership to have them fix this...
still doing it...the noise is coming from the sliding panel underneath the sunroof opening. Is there something I can do, cause obviously they can't ?

yeah my 2004 has the same problem but I think it was the bass that did it.

I used a clear lube from work and it seemed to help abit.

My local dealership has looked at it again.. and he is willing to order inside panels. I will keep you posted. The parts should arrive early next week.

Tell them to lubricate all the mechanical parts, gears and such, heavily with white lithium grease, or gear oil. Its a bitch to get at these later, so better to have it done while its all open.

This will help prevent from something breaking, and having to repair it later.

hi guys...

I've noticed from othere sites, that this is a problem that Toyota has issued a 'Technical Service Bulliten' about. If you go to the www.newcelica.com website, and click on 'tech info' at the top, then navigate to 'Technical Service Bullitens' (might just be TSB), then you'll find loads of pdf files that Toyata mechanics use to recify known problems. There is one for the noisy sun-roof issue.

Hope you're able to find it ok. If not, I've downloaded them all and am happy to email to anyone who needs it.

Cheers
