factory CD MP3 - is it availeable?

Hi guys, does anyone of you own a Celica with a standard factory MP3 compatible CD headunit? I do not but I would like to get one and install it into my 2000 Celica TS. I have seen some info about its availeability in Australian region ... Would you suggest me where to look for it and how to purchase it?

Because:
1. i want to keep the style
2. actually it is more convenient to use this big-button machine comparing to any aftermarket deck
3. safe considering thieves (in my country it is an issue) and any aftermarket deck is just 15 seconds job to pull out
4. installation of non-standard will be much more complicated than a standard toyota headunit, ie. wires, woofers etc.

^Call dealer or look locally for a used one, in junkyard maybe.

1. the panasonic deck is a POS.
2. buy an aftermarket deck with big buttons.
3. buy an aftermarket deck with a removable faceplate.
4. buy the adapter for the toyota connector.

4. Audio shop but it'll bypass stock amp if you have one.
Also the deck is different if you have stock amp or not.

stock amp is a POS anyways. If ur really worried about ur deck being stolen, buy an aftermarket alarm with a pager. Then you know.

Even better yet, buy a dvd unit and hide the brain. The deck is useless without a brain and if u buy a double din, it uses 4 bolts to secure it in place. A lot harder to steal that way.

On my 5th gen with System 10, the deck have a different plug for the stock amp. There is no wiring kit for that. Follow the wires and there is the regular Toyota plug which every audio shop have an harness. Problem is, it'll disconnect and bypass the amp. For me, front and rear speakers works but door sub doesn't. I know its the same for Camry with amp probably true for 7th gen but I'm not sure.

Well I bought one for mine when I installed my deck. There's 2 adapters. One u can use that will bypass the factory amp and the other will actually use the factory amp. I bought the one that bypasses the factory amp since it's only about 30 bucks. The other one is about 100 bucks.

Only OEM changer will plug in. You can get changer with FM but you suffer on sound quality.

In this case its Toyota. Contact your nearest Toyota dealer or junkyard with used Toyota parts.
