ANY ONE EVER TRIED INSTALLING THE MOD CHIP FOR THE COLD AIR?
.... ahh for some reason my ECU doesnt give enough air throtle to my cold air.. i tried reseting the ECU and stuff but still same problem.. ahh i bought this mod chip for the cold air intake created by (german mod cold air intake racing chip) it states that it will give like 20 extra hps.. but i know thats pretty much BS all i need is for my ECU recognizing my cold air and to give proper amount of air input and output to it. anyone ever tried anything like that? any one knows anything abou that cold air mod chip.. or is all BS and wont do anything? aight let me know

when i had my peugeot 106 gti, i installed one of these "mod chips" claiming it can give UP TO an extra 20bhp... to be honest i actualy did notice slight a increase in performance and a massive drop in mpg tho!! apparently can cause pinking/ possible detonation if you dont use 98+ octance fuel.

Those "mod chips" actually do what they are supposed to do. It tricks the ecu by sending a false reading that the air is actually colder than it really is. In return the ecu will throw more fuel into the mix. Unfortunately, more fuel does not equal more power all the time. If anything, the chip is just hurting gas mileage on a motor that really isnt suffering from a lean (lack of fuel) mixture.

Only chip Ive ever heard of offering approx 30hp is an APR chip for VW. A chip can remove your speed governer, rev limiter and can make the motor believe that more air is being sent into the motor, and to correct the Air/Fuel Mixture, it dumps more gas in. This is the reason that gas milage decreases. When done properly with I/H/E cams and such it makes the car more efficient. Combination of mods is when you notice bigger differences.

Not all IAT are the same. They use different resistance to scale temp. Some is even reverse, lower temp get higher resistance vs higher temp higher resistance. Some is not even linear. Some measure current not resistance. So there is no resistor that work with all ECU.
If resistor can replace a piggy back comp, you'll be surfing the net on resistors, not transistors. And I'll trade resistor for your CPU. |
