what else do i need if i installed springs?
Hi,
sorry for posting so much but i have lots to know. I just bought a 2000 GTS and the car was lowered with H&R springs. I was wondering if i need to change the struts too or just use the factory ones? is a camber kit a must? should i just install back the stock springs? |

you can stay with the stock ones as long as they aren't blown yet. chances are they aren't blown.
camber kit is not a must. you can go back to stock springs if you want. the ride height will be higher and the handling will not be as sharp as with the H&Rs. plus keep in mind that you will have to pay the labor to re-install the stock springs. i would leave it the way it is. |

Keep in mind that you are going to have to eventually change out your factory shocks/struts with these springs.
You have many choices but some of the better ones are Koni Yellows, Tokico Blues, and a few others. Depending on how long the previous owner has been driving the car with the H&R springs will really play a role in how long you have before the OEM shocks need to be replaced. You will find the car starts to become really bouncy when the shocks wear and it will be obvious that new shocks are required.

Depending on how low the new springs dropped the car, you may seriously want to consider saving some cash to buy new struts now. If he lowered it four years ago, and nothing has broken yet, i would guess that camber kits were installed when he dropped it and it may not have the stock struts on it still. You could look to see if the kits are on it, they are pretty much just bolts with washers on them. Keep in mind that factory suspensions are not designed to handle a 2 inch drop. Its the equivalent of driving around with an additional 4-500 lbs constantly on your car.
