$200 may seem alot, but you have to realize the stereo in the IS300 is not of normal size so you will need to fabricate a trim plate to finish it.

$75 x 2 for 2 units being installed
$50 for materials and fabrication of trim plate.

You've seen how much work it takes to get 2 din sized units into a double din space. it's not as easy as one sing din.

step 1....wire it all up plateless....
step 2....cut plate and paint and fit it

gouda, take a picture of the stock harness going to the deck, as far down as possible.

i had a factory amp in my car, which should be similar to what they still use now.

i was able to use a harness from walmart to bypass it.

nope.... i knwo what you are sayign..i got a stocker too..(celica with system 10 remeber) his shit is all hooked into the navigation harnesses and stuff... two antena's and a booster...as well as only 5 wires that arnt accounted for..believe me i think his best bet is to run 4 pairs of speaker cables o teh stock amp then bypass it and remove it... all the crossovers are passive anyways...

look into the lexus forums, i'm pretty sure some one has done a write up.

aint no factory system has defeated me yet, and im talking about the GM systems that incorporate everything into the deck

yeah i told him i can beat it no problem..the problem is that the amp dosnt recieve signal from the deck in the normal pattern

it's actually sending 4 signals that are weird... a ground and two lines that are called TX+ and TX-

both the dvd and the mp3 are powered and grounded and they arre hooked to the dimmers and the acc... they are bolted into the stock location and i showed him waht to buy for a plate (scoche makes one for liek 20 bucks for the is300 you can order at walmart)

but as for the stock amp being used...why bother? the reciver has good strength and frankly why not use it over the factor setup? volume control and adjustments will reflect much more effectivly...

I wouild done the bypass myself i just didnt have the time last night

bypassing is the way i'd go too.

scosche makes a harness for the 7th gen GTS with the factory amp, and i'm pretty sure they use the same system.
