Do I have a MOD in mind (sunroof removal)

so the car IS @ bodyshop.
now the sunroof is bugging me
I am thinking of removing the thing and putting in a plexiglass or something similar.
My question is...
If I remove th complete sunroof assembly, will the structure be much weaker?couldn t I put a bar accross the rear struts and maybe on the floor behind the front seats to make it more rigid??

let me now what you know and think

thanks
MA

Personally I wouldn't want to loose the functionality of a sunroof although if you could change it from body colour to glass that would be sweet!

Guys Guys,

I appreciate the feedback,but...question is.
If I remove th complete sunroof assembly, will the structure be much weaker?couldn t I put a bar accross the rear struts and maybe on the floor behind the front seats to make it more rigid??

yes it will be weaker.

if you want to ditch it and make the ride more rigid, then just get the bodyshop to weld the opening closed, then look for a headliner from a non-sunroof celica. boom.
