2004 Celica GT Intake Filter Questions

Hey all, my girlfriend just got a red '04 celica gt and wants to do some stuff to it. I was wondering if anyone has personally installed a new filter in one of these puppies. The reason I ask is because if I removed the stock "boxy" filter, I don't know if a K&N filter would fit in the space created. I was hoping one of you could give me a quick step by step also on how to take out the stock filter and put the new one in. If the filter does not fit, does this mean I need to get a full intake system with a pipe that maybe curves around so it does not cause the filter to rub up against the car? Thanks for all your all's help!

You have a few choices as far as the intake is concerned. You can pick up a K&N or TRD drop-in filter which simply replaces the OEM air filter and fits normally into the stock air box.

You can also pick up one of many short ram intakes which will replace the entire stock airbox.

Then you have the choice of a cold air intake again which will replace the entire stock airbox. I'd recommend either Injen or AEM if you decide to take this route.
