Where should i start?

So I have a 2000 GT-S Sportshift that i bought in november completely stock. I havent had enough money to put in it until now and I was just looking for some guidance on a few things.

1. As far as performance goes, I'm not one to go crazy, but something under the hood would be nice. The problem is im not sure what would really benifit a GT-S with as little cost as possible.

2. Im redoing the interior. Seats are staying cuz i love the leather buckets. As far as dome lighting goes, im not sure what would look good with red. Its a tough color and i dont want it to look cheap and corny so if anyone has ideas that would be great. Also, no blue lighting cuz everyone does blue. (The lights will be under the dash, seats, and dome lighting F.Y.I)

3. Im tinting the windows first, but after that, im not sure what to do besides my ideas, so if anyone has done anything sick to theirs that they wouldnt mind sharing, that would be great.

Thanks guys.

Re: Where should i start?

well how much is not much? I mean Engine wise dropping 400 or 500 hundred is small stuff. You might be able to get away with some headers and an exhaust. Probably a Bomz SRI or even one of their CAI, if you bargin hard enough. But those are the basic upgrades.

Cosmetics wise, They're generally cheaper, generally.. but you could get another Wing, a CF hood, Rims, decals.. Tint is good.

BTW hope you like celispeed, good to have a new member.

Re: Where should i start?

most people usually slap on a Cold air intake or Short ram intake. and upgrade the exhaust system. both mods are relatively inexpensive and give you a little more horse power. plus it gives your celi a nice sound.

Re: Where should i start?

Yeah i mean over time i should be able to drop a couple grand on it and a few hundred here and there is what im looking at for the engine. How much horsepower boost will an intake, headers, and exhaust add to my Celi. Also, any brand recommedations?

Re: Where should i start?

not much 10 maybe. to me brands don't really matter for intake or exhaust pipe. you want to get a good air filter and muffler. there is not difference pipe or tubing as long as its mandrel bent and the less bends the better

Re: Where should i start?

For the Most part a brand is a brand. I have an AEM CAI and Squish (another member) bought a bomz CAI. the AEM new costs 300$ the Bomz new costs 70$ and they look Pipe wise exactly the same. So go bomz. Now Hp.. it'll prolly give you anywhere for 7-10, but I read somewhere the stock intake gives you 6, so your really only gaining 1-4.
Exhaust, again I've read the exhaust will give you 6 hp. so if an add says gives you 14 horsepower. Well its really only giving you 8.
Exhausts I say go TRD, from TRD Toyota-Scion Performance Parts Accessories from Sparks Toyota-Scion, but I'm gonna do what Jive did and go pick up some pipe from auto zone and probably Custom make one.

Re: Where should i start?

well what look are you going for. alot of people pick up a aftermarket steering wheel, shifter, new pedals, and e-brake. you can do some custom painting. or upgrade the sound. new speakers, subs new head unit and such

Re: Where should i start?

dont go steering wheel though, I'm pretty sure you'll be sacrificing your cruise control. Custom paint jobs are kick ass, here check out one of my FAVORITE Celica youtube vids.

Re: Where should i start?

yeah someone has already done that on here, but you have to buy little LED lights and solder them on there. Too much of a pain in the ass for me. But I never learned how to use a soldering gun, and personally I'm not too interested. YET.. I may learn someday.

yep its a thread titled Blue fuel gauge?

its for 7th gens like yours and mine, all you have to do is buy different LED lights but that'll show you.

Re: Where should i start?

Yeah I dont know how to solder. I thought maybe it was lighted by a bulb which could be switched out. Whatever its no biggie i was just checking. Still im thinking lime green on the interior. only color that looks good with red. 6000k HID's and underglow that can be switched on and off. Also im looking to smoke out the tail lights and definitly tint so i can take out that god awful shelf in the back. I was thinking about painting the depression in the hood black. Any other details i can touch up?

Re: Where should i start?

Personally.. dont mess with license plate lights. Its bad enough if a cop sees one out, but if he sees your plate lights green or blue, its just like a tramp stamp on a dirt-leg, all it says is Look at me.

Re: Where should i start?

Go with Bomz man. I paid $49.95 thats it.. no shipping nothing and that was a polished 3' pipe with a perfect bend and a SWEET filter. I think SRI sound better than CAI but thats just personal plus you get more power throughout instead of at high rpms. Even if its not technically a lot of gains, my car is night and day with it on now. It runs amazing so go for the bomz.

Re: Where should i start?

I was thinking just a white LED liscence plate light to replace the grimy yellow it emits now. Also it would match the theme with the HID headlights.
