Check air filter, now bad idle? wtf!?
I bought a 7th gen, 2ZZGE spd two months ago with only 50,000 miles. Everything on the car is and has been perfect so far.
Except today, I go to check the air filter, a bit of a pain [I could only find 3 of the supposed 4 clips that hold the top of the box on, so had to wrestle with the filter a bit to get it out and then back in, as I couldn't completely get the top of the filter box out of the way]. But now, after having put the air filter back in and closing the filter box back, the car won't idle properly, with no gas it drops below 500 and eventually shuts off. It doesn't seem to respond to throttle very well either [note: I've only idled it out of gear since this problem, haven't driven anywhere]. WTF!!!?? |

Nevermind, I knocked loos a vacuum line on what I assume to be the IACV.
It was so close to where it should connect that it didn't look disconnected until closer inspection. |

ha ha.. I did this when I was trying install a Spectre SRI setup for my car. I took that little hose out close to the Throttle body and every time I tried to start my car it would idle for 3 seconds and die.. Really frustrating.
