Re: Should i get a celica?

If you're going for exterior only, so it seems from your post, does it matter if it's slow?
What do your friends drive? A Neon?

Re: Should i get a celica?

Personally get an 03 and up.. I like the looks better. Id get a gts beause of the 6 speed and the extra 50 base horse. throw on an air intake, header, and maybe some extra engine tuning and you can give them a run for their money, I love my car to death

GT - 140 HP
GT-S - 180 HP

in km's, you get 20 more kms, not a huge difference. before I bought the car I have now, I went and took a 2000 GTS for a drive, it was soooo slow

Re: Should i get a celica?

For one welcome to Celispeed.

You have just come on to ask celica fans what they think of celicas.

Well at that. I would go with a GTS or an 03-05 GT. These cars are not slow. They shouldn't be used for street racing as no car should be. These cars can be built into some pretty decent track cars. They have very sleek body's and there is a lot you can do to the exterior. If you have the money to put into the motor. If it's speed and power just go with the GTS its a better motor when it comes to modifications. This car is beautiful and definitely a great everyday car.

Re: Should i get a celica?

all depends on what you want. if your going for show then it shouldnt matter what model you get. if you want speed. id look into getting a 5th or 6th gen alltrac/gt-four there awd turbocharge from the factory. the 7th gen doesnt have this option. if you want a 7th gen because of the body style and want alittle speed. get a 7th gen GT'S its alittle better than the GT model.

"usually it my bro telling me its slow
and actually he drives a MAZDA RX-8!!"

Why not just post it here rather than PM'ing me?

Tell him to get a celica once his rotary blows up ~90,000 kms

Re: Should i get a celica?

I had an 02 alltrac but I flipped in a ditch but I agree with what your saying. The GTS 6-speed would be the best and smartest path the take if you want to mix performance and looks together.

Who cares what he wants, he wont be driving it, you will be. Worst case you can sell it if you don't like it.

Re: Should i get a celica?

That's true I agree with Squish or you can go to a dealership and test drive one and get a feel for what your getting. In my opinion it is a great little car and is a lot of fun to drive. I don't think its a slow car really at all.

Re: Should i get a celica?

It really depends on your location tbh. Or if you get lucky and get a cheap one with no issues.
I bought mine for $10,500 canadian. I had another one before this one that I bought for $10,800 but got into an accident and with the money I got back for it bought this one. Everyone thinks its better now anyway

mine is also a 2004 GT and it had just over 109 000kms

Ya its true if you can find a cheap one its definitely luck of the draw but these are definitely cars that are worth their price and will last a long time if you take care of them
