Re: Should i get a celica?

Got my 00 GTS for $5.5k i spent around 1K fixing it and its been running pretty smooth since then. Well that may be a jinx cause last couple days I think my revs and engine sound has been sounding different that usual (no immediate signs of the car running any different though). I'll say it sounded a lot QUIETER when I was going to class today. I was going 80 and I could barely hear anything running if that's a good thing or a bad thing lol.

Re: Should i get a celica?

REDRHINO. Don't get caught up in getting a car your friends will approve of. Get it for you. If you want a Celica then ask what issues these cars are prone to so you get something dependable. I personally love my 2000 Celica GT 5 speed. Dependable, good gas mileage, handles fabulous and its pretty zippy stock. Even though my car is fine, I'm currently lookin for an old motor & trani for my car to rebuild cuz when the day comes to replace them I will in a hart beat cuz I really love this car,, so fun to drive and starts every time. Great daily driver! Oh and I got my 2000 GT for $5K with 100K miles and in really good condition (was lucky that previous owner took good care of it).

In my state (CT) it's a pain in the ass to get a salvaged car registered. Something to keep in mind.

Re: Should i get a celica?

redrhino, the celica is not a car designed to go fast unless it is something like the st205(gt4). yes as far as the 7th gen goes the gts has the power advantage over gt by 40 hp, but all in all the celica is a car designed and built towards handling.
