Re: Check Engine Light....
Sub you need to get the celi back on the road man, With it turning out 400-500 hp I'd love to see what it could do track wise. and I know this may go off topic a bit, but.. Squishes CEL did go off :) so thats why It should be ok LOL

Re: Check Engine Light....
Lol Sub will one day unleash his beast on the road and winds will start to blow hurricane type forces and once those tires hit the road a flash of light will beam into the sky.
And that is how stars are made LOL Sorry completely random but I thought pretty dam funny.

Re: Check Engine Light....
get the code pulled, alot of parts store can do it for free, or get your friend to pull it. It would help us better identify your problem, it could be as simple as an EVAP leak and you keep trying to pin it on the intake... The light could honestly be anything!!

When I get my alarm installed tomorrow I will get them to read it because they have a reader.

Re: Check Engine Light....
Dang really?? Well hopefully you get a code, if it was leaking to much air you wouldnt be able to even keep it running.. I found this out the wrong way.

Re: Check Engine Light....
Well Carroll is right, the CEL could be anything, thats why can make it frustrating. your best bet will be to see if you can get the code read. Hell it could just be it time for a tune-up or somthing, you did buy a used car. So in hindsight theres no telling what they ever did for maintence. Make sure you check your serpintine belt too. Thats one more thing you cant afford not to check.

Re: Check Engine Light....
ok I noticed that your evap was rigged up wrong anyway, but I didnt mention it simply because I thought well Hell it'll work. First off that bracket Thats sticking right off the top front section of your CAI, closest to your engine, yeah that EVAP set up needs the bolt taken out of it, and properly adjusted to sit right in that little bracket.
Not lop-sided with a zip tie. another thing, you could go to auto zone and buy a package valve cover for like 2 bucks and lose the hose and bolt under your Throttle body. I'm not sure if postion of the evap bracket is Necessary but its one less detail if you install it properly. http://www.aemintakes.com/instructio...1-564_inst.pdf scroll down to page 7, read through the instructions, I used those same detailed installation instructions, but made a video because in todays world people generally dislike to read. |

Re: Check Engine Light....
theres an issue with a few toyota models having proplems with a line that runs from the tank overflow check valve to an evap solenoid, the line usually breaks at the valve and will be loose under the car causing a significant vacuum leak which could explain the rough idle and running issues, this line may have also come loose in your engine bay when you installed the cold air intake
ill will check the big green book for you and post what i find on your car

Re: Check Engine Light....
:) no squish.. ugh.. if you were only 3000 miles closer. lol This would be much easier explained.
ok Your evap ![]() WRONG ![]() CORRECT ![]() YES Buy a 1/8 valve cover. looks like a LITTLE plastic black cap. Trace that hose back to the engine. ![]() and cap it off. Less useless hoses lying around. Also What ever Carroll is talking about might also be true. No one here knows how your installation went so a hose could have easily been knocked loose. LASTLY ![]() WHERE IS THIS BRACKET? |

Re: Check Engine Light....
lol yeah the little things could possibly be messing with your CEL, its not a 100 percent certainty. But Its worth fixing them. even afterwards you'll probably still have to disconnect the battery for a reset.
