"auto light" light sensor

hey i'm tired of my lights stayin on automatically at night when my sensor guy gets tripped, i'd like to have the control to turn them off or just run my running lights when parked. so i was gonna dive into it tomorrow and just wanted to see if anyone had any insight, will simply removing the sensor keep the lights on permanently, or do i have to run some kind of by-pass?

Re: "auto light" light sensor

well its a photo resistor so by cutting it out with out shorting it, it will think that there is lots of light and effectively turn the lights off... if you want to keep the auto headlight feature all you would have to do is splice a switch into one of the poles of the resistor, if that makes any sense

Re: "auto light" light sensor

If you keep your e-brake up one notch (not enough to catch) it won't trip the sensor but then you have the annoying brake warning light on your dash... But it's a quick fix until you can get into it a bit further...
