Re: cant get key out of ignition

is the car automatic? if so is the car in park or neutral? just keep wigling it and hammer it with a rubber hammer and eventually it should come out

Re: cant get key out of ignition

DO NOT HAMMER IT WITH A RUBBER MALLET (mckenzie you TOOL!) twist the steering wheel left to right while pushing the key in and turning it. (i'm assuming the steering wheel is locked)
there's a mechanism that jams the key when the steering wheel is locked and it sometimes gets stuck, same goes for when you try and start the car and its locked, you have to turn the wheel left and right to loosen it up. Ill try and get you the internal pics of the key cylinder so you can see how it works. you can't fix it by hammering it.. start the car then turn it off making sure you turn it all the way back, remember the clicks on, acc, 1st click then out. do it slow.

Rubber mallet?? I was thinking a mini sledge (a full sized one might be a little hard to fit) Of course, after all that beating, it may not go back in...*shrugs*
