Ignition coils- shift light

Preface: 2002 Celica GT.

so i'm puttin in a shift light for my new celica. and unlike older cars with one ignition coil you may know that there is a coil with each igniter for each cylinder. . . . . so in order to splice the wires for my shift light to be able to read the rpm's correctly i need to figure out the best route to tap into somewhere to get an accurate tach reading without damaging the functions of the synchronized igniters/coils. so basically where do i tap my shift light in since there is not one "old school" ignition coil?

thanks alot-

DuffMan.

Re: Ignition coils- shift light

I think there is a kit that hooks up somewhere in the cabin to avoid all that. I dont remember but that was around maybe 6 years ago or so, not sure how successful that was.
