Re: 2001 GT Timing Chain or Belt? and when to change
Just found out from my buddy that it uses a Chain since its a 1ZZFE engie.
btw, who makes the celica repair manual?? I know hynes doesn't make one for the celica. What other repair manual brands make the celica manual?? I dont' want to spend crazy amounts of money for the genuine TOYOTA manual Last edited by TRIGGA_GT : 07-30-2008 at 12:39 AM. |

Re: 2001 GT Timing Chain or Belt? and when to change
That seems to be it, try an ebay search
and if you wanna know intervals, talk to a Toyota mechanic, or order the car manual (not the repair manual) or find one in a scrapper

However, shit happens

Re: 2001 GT Timing Chain or Belt? and when to change
Since chains are alot stronger than belts they last alot longer than belts. I have of chains breaking but it is not very often at all. Belts snap all the time. If a timing chain snaps...it will be a mess.

Re: 2001 GT Timing Chain or Belt? and when to change
yeah, considering all the little links go flipping everywhere
which is why you get your chain CHECKED and replaced when wear occurs
