Wheel/tire shopping

Ok, this has to be the hardest thing to shop for and get right. So first question is what is the bolt pattern on a 02 gt? Next question is related to that I am going to buy a lightwieght 17" rim and want to know what would be the best tire size to go with. If anybody has recomendations on tire brand that would also be helpful. This will be a street and track wheel/tire setup so grip is very important and tire wear is going to be the comprimise but i also dont want to spend 200 plus per tire, so some good grip and good wear rate is ideal. Thanks for any help, so far you guys have been great with advice on here, I am very impressed with the support and lack of bickering other car groups have.

JJ

Anybody going to be going to the HIN show here in columbus ohio?

Re: Wheel/tire shopping

5x100
tire size will depend on the rim width, prob 205/40 or 215/40

Re: Wheel/tire shopping

Im still not solid on the wheel math yet...im lookin at 7.5 width, as for the tire size which is the smaller sidewall, the 205/40 or the 215/40? Thanks again Sal, you seem to be the quick on the draw person here with all the answers...much appreciated. Plus I love your little clip of jess alba from sin city, that was what made that movie definately worth owning.

Re: Wheel/tire shopping

the 40 is the sidewall on a 17"rim don't go less than that or the ride quality will suffer.
