celi vs probe bet, need confidence!

Allright, im a junior in highschool and the only one with a 95 Celica GT! hahah, its great...

anyways, so really nobody believes me it is capable of getting to 60 at least under 9 seconds with just stock

so to make a long story short: a guy wants to race my celica with his 94 Ford Probe GT. i believe its a 4 cylender manual, but not 5 speed... He let me know he doese have a new exhaust system on it but i figured it woulndt help out a great deal.

so we are schedualed to race this friday for 200 dollars. alot of people are viewing this being its soppose to be a close race

my thaughts on it. Im a very good driver, expecially with stick; however, i dont know much about ford probes and im guessing my only chance for a win is all about the weight atvantage. Anyone raced a ford probe or have a better idea in this comparison? would help! thx!

you sir are retarded...so you're a 16yr old kid who wants to race another dumb kid for money...tell you what...make the race a game of chicken..find a really high cliff...and see who'll stay in the car the longest...but make sure you act macho and stay in right til the last second

keep your rpm's over 4000 the whole race if it's a 5sfe adn power shift no matter what...

basicaly if you stay in your power range (4000-6000) he should get whooped...

as for his car..it's a 6'cyl if it's a GT and if it's a manual it's 5 speed but you have closer gear ratios

he''s long gears will be his undoing

I'm searching the net and every Probe GT got 2.5L V6 170HP.

You race on the street, you pay.
If they do it on the track then its all good. Move the race to the track man.

I ran a 24 valve Probe GT and won, he had some sort of an exhaust, but this ofcourse is my car, you don't stand a chance.

my friend has a 5 speed GT 6 and he cant beat me and jsut to be sure we switched cars and i couldnt beat him....

so car vs. car his was slower and mine is basicaly a 6th gen powerplant

If you can't beat it with more HP, how can he beat it with less?
Hope the other guy miss shift. Took lots of skill to gap 30HP different.

Come on man, weight and gearing pays a huge part of it as well. Just because the 5sfe has around the same hp and more torque than a 1zz does not mean that it can keep up. Celica platforms.
