Replacing lower control arm
I need to replace my lower control arm cause it's bent when I hit the curb the other day.
In the repair manual it requires my to lower the subframe and hold the engine while doing this. I don't have a engine lifter/crane to do this. Is it possible to do it any other way? |

Re: Replacing lower control arm
You dont need to do that. What you do is:
1)take the wheel off. 2)Unbolt the strut from the hub assembly. 3)Unbolt the steering rack from the hub assembly. 4)Unbolt the hub assembly. 5)Unbolt the lower control arm where it connects in three places. Remove bolts. 6)Whack the living crap out of the lower control arm with a malit or dead blow hammer till it comes free. Install new one. Id say you better have a air compressor with gun, breaker bar, and ball joint remover to do the job. |
