Mods for 02 gts

I am looking into getting a CAI, Headers, and Exhaust and I just wanted to know what the best possible combination is as far as brands go.

Re: Mods for 02 gts

i really don't think that it'll be worth your time to run an after market ecu without adding forced induction

Actually it's probably the best modification you can do to the 7th gen Celica. It will allow you to lower your lift engagment point (huge improvement since all the power is in the high end of the 2zz engine).

Re: Mods for 02 gts

you could just build a lift controller- similar to those vtech controllers: http://www.geocities.com/killer_sill...ontroller.html

he was talking about an ecu to manipulate fueling, I just think that kind of money ($1500+ for the unit, another 500 for tuning?) could be better spent on more effective modifications. I guess it all depends on your power goals, at a certain power point, you'll need an ECU replacement/piggyback anyways

Exactly my point. You can buy a pre-mapped Power FC (with a digital commander) for under $900 CAD now, from MWR (2zz or 1zz applications). If you start with this, you get immediate "gains", and as you add your mods (I/H/E), you already have an adaptive ECU to work with.

If you ask anyone who has a GT-S and a Power FC, they will tell you that it is the best bang-for-your-buck mod available.

Re: Mods for 02 gts

Greddy v-manage if you want a controller
TRD or Injen exhaust
Blitz/Rod Millen/AEM intake either shortram or cold air
Header go PPE (Untitled Document) the product is not on their website you have to email or call them about it. Its a little more expensive then the hotshot or DC but it makes way better gains and is worth it.
Other than that you should think about a fidanza lightweight flywheel and an Exedy stage II clutch.

USA Re: Mods for 02 gts

does anyone know why car manufacturers dont somehow tie in the air conditioning unit to the intake housing to have continuous controlled cold air? my other question is are there any other shops that produce a stroker kit for the 00 2zz besides trial and mwr? and any descent toyota shops in phoenix area?
