Re: anyone willing to help a girl out??
actually, i have a K&N short ram...i wasnt sure if i wanted to get a cold air since i had heard about problems with water getting into the filter (especially since it rains a lot in houston).

Re: anyone willing to help a girl out??
work on your suspension, springs, shocks, sways, for the GTS it is the best mod u cna do you will enjoy the car more.
You dont need to do a huge drop the eibach/TRD 1" is good enough. Then get a Exhaust and a Injen CAI. finish it off with a ported Header. Prob the best mos u can do with out going FI. everythign else IMO is worthless.

Re: anyone willing to help a girl out??
You don't have to be too worried about water getting into ur intake. As long as the cold air pipe and filter are on a vertical angle, I would think that water would have a hard time trying to fight gravity. IMO, I would get a Cold Air Intake with a K&N filter on there. Get rid of that Short Ram Intake, all you're doing is sucking in hot air from under the hood. The SRI may sound cool, but it's bad for performance.
Other than that, stiffening up the ride isn't that bad of an idea. Stuff like getting thicker and stiffer sway bars, those are easy to install. Or similary strut bars. I wouldn't bother buying springs and struts, I would just save up for a full coilover setup if you really want to improve the handling. Sway/Strut bars are relatively cheap, that's why I lsited them. Re: anyone willing to help a girl out??
hey guys, thanks so much for all the advice! it really helped.
I already have a blitz exhaust, so i'm thinking on working with that for now and getting headers and a custom straight pipe. Most of the headers delete a cat right? i dont wanna delete my cats, at least not yet. i think dc is the only one that's street legal...? does it have a high flow cat? Re: anyone willing to help a girl out??
dc makes headers. If you delete your cat you would not be able to pass emsisions testing. Do cops in Texas stop cars and force them to do emissions testing? I know here Ive never heard of that happening and I wouldnt be worried about it.
Changing your header wont realy affect your cars emissions. Its just a little larger diameter piping before the cat. |
