Re: anyone willing to help a girl out??
Thats a pretty nice Celica you got. It's true what they said about short ram intakes they're all show and no go. You are right water can get into the filter but it rarely happens in just the rain. That mostly happens when you drive your car in a flood. Plus the new AEM CAI come with a bypass valve which helps prevent this from happening. I would say get a CAI intake followed by some DC Sports 4-2-1 headers. Removing your cat will make your car illegal and you will only get u like 7 hp gain. Jus go with a hi flow cat stay legal and gain some hp. Then top it off with the Unorthadox SS pulley kit (includes alt, water pump and crank pullys)

Re: anyone willing to help a girl out??
okay thanks! actually, i just got an injen cold air with the hydrashield cover, so im really glad i got rid of the short ram. im still thinking about the dc or trust headers from japan...i love the way my exhaust sounds, and im not sure how my exhaust system will sound with headers.
what im focused on now is the tranny. i have an automatic, and im deciding between keeping it automatic and eventually getting a torque/stall converter...or converting it to a manual. i know performance-wise (for a quarter mile), an automatic is better bc u can never shift faster than an automatic and u have shorter gear ratios...but a manual is so much more fun to drive :D after i figure out what to do with the tranny, ill prolly work on the suspension (and get a coilover)...but the pulley upgrade is a really good idea so i might just do that next. my car guy/friend is a toyota master tech, so he gets me nice parts for awesome prices and no charge for any installation/labor :D and he lets me do all the work under the hood, which is probably the best part. Thanks for all the help guys!! :D |
