A'PEX i ITC wiring on a 5S-FE
Wow this thing is a bitch, i have all the shit ready to go and the power and ground are functional.... i have also spliced it into the ECU's G1,G- and NE signals but seeing that the 5SFE isn't listed on their spec sheets i can't seem to get it to work with the ecu to spark the gas.
every thing works fine other than the fact that the car won't start any ideas people? the unit hooks up to +12V (done) Ground (done) G1 from ecu (done) G1 to ecu (done) G2 from ecu (missing from 5sfe wiring diagram) G2 to ecu (missing from 5sfe wiring diagram) G- from ecu (done) G- to ecu (done) NE from ecu (done) NE to ecu (done) and has 8 dip switches and a dial on the back that need to be set properly for the car. any help.... piney i am lookin at you man....

apex-i really dosnt tell you waht it's looking for on the ecu btu it takes the crank position sensor on the motor to modify the signal by 15 degrees either way across 5 rpm ranges (i'll never use the 7200 range, of that i am pretty sure.) it seems to need 4 connections to all toyota motors (3sgte and 4agze are listed and ecu diagrams are given) the four are marked on the MR2 and ALL TRAC diagrams as G1 G2 G- and NE
the install book is here http://ca.dsm.org/tech-sitc.html and you have the wiring diagrams for our motor so the only real question i have now is where do green and yellow go?

the closest i coudl find was mazda's rx7 it runs off 3 sensors but i tried those settings and it didnt work...infact i tried ever car on the car select dial....
i am not swapping as this will be my daily driver

i would rather leave things the way they are.
i am sending a letter to Apexi to see if they can help me (they have no email contact for thier development department) but would that disy work? even with the 5sfe ECU...

so hook both in and outs to those wires?
if i fry my ecu can i have your old one?

thats how i tried it... green and yellow were taped off..i though about splicing them into the G1 or even jsut looping them back to the unit but i dunno...

ok so i went back at it for an hour or so and heres what i know now...
+12V (done) Ground (done) G- from ecu (done) G- to ecu (done) G1 from ecu (INCORRECT) G1 to ecu (INCORRECT) NE from ecu (INCORRECT) NE to ecu (INCORRECT) G2 from ecu (missing from 5sfe wiring diagram) G2 to ecu (missing from 5sfe wiring diagram) i tried starting her with it all patched in... NOPE i tried attaching the G1 and G2 wires... NOPE i tried with just the G- 12+ and ground.....STARTED (so those are all good) i tried with the G2 NE G- 12+ and ground... nope so i guess that tells me that i have the power and groudn working fine and the G- must just be a monitered line because i saw no change whiel adjusting the timing while it ran i am starting to get angry at it and i am not sure it's going to work...  BUT WHAT A GREAT PUZZLE SO FAR

also after looking at other cars......
Mazda only uses NE, -, G+,12v,ground other than the miata which uses SGT and SGC???? mitsubishi lists the functions kinda...for the 4g63 G1 is the Crank Angle Sensor and the G2 is the Cam position sensor so does the 5sfe have a CAS and CPS? if so what wires are they?

We don't have cam position sensor.
Try connect Green and Peach to G1 and White and Yellow to ECU G1. Try connect Peach to G1, White to ECU G1. Try Car type O and B (RX7) Will look at Honda setting to see. |
