[B]NEW k&N TYPHOON CEL COMES ON AFTER A DAY OF RESET[/B]

JUST PUT ON MY TYPHOON ON MY 03 CELICA GT AND MY ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ON ,
I RESET THE ECU BY TAKING OFF THE NEG BATERY LEAD,
IT WENT OUT THEN AFTER 20MILES IT CAME BACK ON , I RESET IT AGAIN BUT THE SAME PROBLEM.......ANY IDEAS HOW TO SOLVE IT AND WILL IT DAMAGE MY ENGINE ?

Bassil, ensure all of your connections are tight. The key one to look at is the rubber sleeve that connects the tube to the stock intake manifold. Make sure it's good. Also, your MAF sensor needs to be securely mounted and tightened in the new K&N setup. I have had mine in for over a year and had no problems with it. (Other than when the Hotchkis sway work was done, it broke the seal on the tube to manifold) Also, ensure the CEL is related, perhaps the actual code speaks to something else. Fwiw. Dave.

I swear, there should be a sticky about the CEL with cold air intakes and the such.

(On a lighter note, my friend jammed a aem filter on his manifold! No problems there lol. The car is in POS condition anyways, but it is still B.A)

i have a short ram type sounds wicked after 3000rpm.
i have checked my grommits / sleeves and all apear tight the only thing that i have changed
is the two connections for the vac and buterfly valve controller, one is blue and one is black and they fit either valve device lol . i swaped them round today cleaned my already clean maff sensor,now i have reset the ecu i am justing waiting to see if it gives me another cel ,but so far so good,time will tell!!!!!

I have the same setup, it's really a great kit. and you are right it sounds awesome, you should hear it with a trd exhaust! beautiful!

It will not damage your engine, ill take a pictures of my setup and post it tomorow.

there that will be awesome cheers m8, what you reckon on the camcon for vvti and vtec engines ? i am well thinking about it but i dont want 2 get it if its pooh

sergio them trd exhausts good then , is it a full system? expensive?also you got a gt/vvti 140 aswell m8.

i bought mine 3weeks ago i wanted the vvtli/gts but insurance was 2 much.
i am happy with what i got though maybe upgrade in a few years ,

I would suggest PowerFC, I've read that its much simpler to use. But if you have garage shops in your are that are familiar with camcom and know how to use it then it would be a better choice. I only known celica owners here using Power FC.

As for TRD exhaust, as far as i know it has the best fitments, sound and performance gains compared to other exhaust. And by sound i mean its not LOUD, its low and deep, specially with an intake. It costs a bit more compared to other exhaust. But its worth the money $.

I Have a GT as well. There is a lot of good things you can do to make your GT a better car.

Bassil, these cars are awesome. For the dollar, there is still nothing out there that can match the looks and handling of these cars. There are some questions on the !ZZ engine, but this has been my first Toyota and it is the best car I have ever owned. (Original owner Nov 99) I am middle aged so I have had a few. :-) Sergio is right on with his description of the TRD. (I initially had a Rod Millen on mine, very good also.) The TRD is deeper and has a really nice sound. The K&N setup is high quality and will work wonderfully for you.

i have been looking at full systems for a week or so what do you reckon on the scorpion tuner 5 with a wide band o2 sensor and a sports cat if i can find one?
