What if you don't fix it?

I have the oil dissapearing issue with my 02 Celica.

I took it to the dealership and they want me to foot a $900 bill to tear down my engine just to figure out what the problem is. After which they will decide whether it should be covered under warrantee.
They act like this issue is brand new and they never heard of the problem.

So what if i don't fix it? I heard the catalytic converter and o2 sensors can get blown.
Anyone know anything further?

Go to another dealer, they are all different in terms of how they handle issues. Check out wietzes toyota.

It also depends if you are still on original warranty. some dont want to bother unless you are still under 60k

he would constantly be topping up oil everytime he refueled. It becomes very very annoying.

Re: What if you don't fix it?

Yes it will kill the cat, as for other damage it depends on the reason for the oil use. On my rav4 the valve seals leak. Aside from clogging up the cat and egr with carbon it doens't really hurt anyhting. I cut the cat off and I clean the EGR once every couple years and add a half liter of oil every other week. If it's rings or soemthing then it's only going to get worse and eventually the motor will die.
