Something very weird going on

I'm driving a 2002 celica GT Manual
When I'm driving at a steady speed and I have my foot on the gas just slightly the car can't keep a steady stream of power to the wheels, it fluctuates spiratically. And I think this may be related, yesterday I was at 40kph, I put the car in nutral and went to brake, it got stiff... The car had stalled, looks like when the rpms were heading down they just kept going to zero. I tried to restart the car while moving, it wouldn't go. Once at rest the car wouldn't turn over, I had to get a boost.

Anyone have any ideas?

Oh, I have also been losing oil misteriously leaving at about a litre per 3000K

Re: Something very weird going on

The oil issue is nothing new to pre 03 1zz engines. As for the other issue, it sounds like your injectors are not spraying fully. You may need to get them flushed.

Re: Something very weird going on

Replace the battery, if the car dies again...replace the alternator.

Also check your battery connections, they could be corroded or loose

Re: Something very weird going on

Any chance my symptoms could be caused by a dirty/clogged air filter? I haven't cleaned my trd filter since i got it 70K ago... anyone?

Re: Something very weird going on

well there's only 1 way to find out..clean the filter (or replace it if it's a disposable filter) and see if it helps.
