Transmission gone on GF's 7th Gen Celica! Need your help please

She owns a 2000 Toyota Celica GT (I believe its a 1zz-fe engine, please correct me if i'm wrong)

Hi there fellow celica owners my gf's car was exhibiting the exact symtoms as the post listed below
Transmission problems?
My mechanic narrowed it down to the transmission is gone. I know very little about celica cars, I'm from the 240 camp I was hoping someone could pitch in on advise or any routes I could take.

1. Anyone know anyone or anywhere I can get a tranny from? (shops, persons, junkyards, jdm importers?)

2. How much does the average transmission cost? new and used... or even engine tranny combo new and used

3. Are there any "swaps" of even older jdm engines (hers is already upto 200,000ish kms, imported engines usually have much lower kms) that are just DROP IN?

4. Any other DIRECT bolt on transmissions I can grab from other Toyota cars? I think i've read something about corolla having the same?

Thanks alot of your help

First off we need to know if its AT or MT

Theres one at Standard Auto for $450, and $250 in Bowmanville
