Got new tires, Break-in period

I just got a new set of four Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S All Season Ultra High Performance tires on my 2002 Celica GT-S. I used to have BF-Goodrich Traction T/A High Performance tires on the car. (205-50-16) But anyway, I was driving my car home from the tire place and I noticed that when i took a curve going 40 mph on my new pirellis, the back end slid out and i almost lost control. I used to take that curve going even as high as 50 mph with my t/a's while having a controllable slide. I was wondering if this is how it will always be with my new pirellis or if I just have to wait a while to do some real driving before they perform as good as or better than my old tires. anyone know any facts?
