smoked tail lights

hi everybody, i just smoked out my tail lights with those vinyl things on ebay, but they didnt turn out exactly how i wanted. they were extremely difficult to fit to the lights so there are now a bunch of wrinkles on the tops of the tail lights which makes it look really cheesy. :(

i was wondering if anybody has used Nite Shade before and how easy it was to do a good job. as far as i can tell, the three tail lights look like a pain to take off, so im just looking for some advice on how to get that smoked out look...

Re: smoked tail lights

ive used nightshade and the results are usually pretty good. you can vary the tint easily, and depending on how well your prep and finish is you can have the lights look OEM quality. just make sure u sand well and wet sand between coats lightly. also use a good gloss clear coat aftward.
