GT-S conversion???
I have reaad somewhere that the difference in a GT and a GT-S is a master cylinder and 6 spd. If that is true then would i benifit more from finding those then a turbo later this yr. Or just keeping it as a GT and buying a turbo for it.

Re: GT-S conversion???
Turbo. There is a full C2 kit for sale on newcelica.org for around $3000 right now. More power then upgrading to the GT-S.

Re: GT-S conversion???
alright, cause that is what i was thinking about to do. And i found a turbo kit for 2869 with the Garret T28BB but it showed it as a corolla. But it showed the engine code, which is the same as the celica. That turbo kit shows that i will be at 280hp or it adds 280. I'm leaning more to the put me at 280. But it is at Import Performance Parts - Import Performance Engine & Racing Parts

Re: GT-S conversion???
i dont think the corolla kit will fit just like that in to the celica... you may have to do some custom plumming work.
and you'll need more than 3 grand for a turbo... add tuning/labor if you wont install it youself. then you'll wand to up the boost, which will make you upgrade to be able to run it safely. oh, and a better clutch for sure. if i were in your position, i'd spend the 3 grand on the 2zz swap... more potential. buy the longblock, and strengthen the block before you install it to save you time down the road :) |

Re: GT-S conversion???
k, but w/ the turbo thing though i did go and ask some people about it and i went to toyota and asked them about that with the corolla and the celica and they said it would. but i only trust the dealer so far, and i just recently put the TRD clutch in. I was gonna put the turbo in myself with the help of a few of my friends who had put turbos on before. one of them actually owns a shop here locally. But ill just look around for a bit and see what i can find.
