Quick question.

is Urethane or duraflex best for the buck?

i only want your answer if you know from experience.. not what youve heard from your grandma who knows a fellow bingo mate whos great grandson has a kit.

urethane is a real material that is polymer based and will take hits and such much better than fiberglass, duraflex is a name some company made up for "well laid reinforced fiberglass" urethane will always be better for durablility but body kits arn't always for looking mad tyte on the strip... if you want to lighten up the car then look to fiberglass for sure as you can save lbs all over the car. (driving an EG withfiberglass skirts and front and rear bumper shows this alot, the bumper is easily 20-30 lbs lighter and the skirts would save another few a peice and it shows in the cars aero and power to weight ratio when you have glass on the outside) but if you are only building a show car or a street car then urethane is what the OEM's use in most cases based on it's tensile strength, it's elastisicy, it's tendency to stay less brittle in cold weather and it's abilitly to withstand some extra abuse....

however i think a big part of alot of kits is how you drive and who paints them.. the better the paint shop and the better the paint selection the better the kit will look and last but no kit can take people like me that skim thier cars off train tracks when the situation arises.

i vote no kits on most applications but if you must kit a celica urethane is pretty much unbeatable unless you plan on building a fast car, in which case i think you are starting with the wrong platform
