Squeaking belt
Got a few questions for you guys.
My celi is an 04 with 32000k, is it normal the the belt is squeaking like crazy ? should I expect a warranty coverage to replace it if needed ? How hard is it to change should it not be covered under regular warranty ?

It has a serpentine belt set-up. It automatically tightens, you can't tighten it anymore. You have one of the following problems:
1) Incorrect belt. 2) Stretched/worn belt. 3) Idler tensioner needs replacing. 4) A pulley turning slower than the rest(could be a worn out bearing). 5) Uneven mating surfaces. First check if the belt is ok, if it is by some belt dressing(airisol can) and spray pulleys, and belt when running. |

I'm having this same problem with my 2002 GT.....it squeaks sometimes, only when cold and usually goes away after I drive for about 10-20 mins. I had a mechanic look at it, and the belt is tight but he recommended replacing it soon anyway. I think my car had this problem when I bought it, and the dealership put the Belt Dressing on it and apparently the stuff wore off. Thanks so much guys!!! Belt Dressing is at like, any autoparts store, right?
