new to celicas

hello im looking to get a celica for my wife and was wondering why the heck are they so expensive...i live in the st. louis area and they all are 13k + for 50k miles on them and all i know about them is that they are 1.8 4 cyl vvti engines, they seem to be pretty light 2500lbs ish... are there any other reason they keep there value...

Welcome. Remember also 1) The high price of the Celica when it was introduced 2) Reliability of Toyota products keeps the resale value high

thank
also i found one for 4500 said to have 47000 miles... it kinda sounds like a scam to me but what do you guys think here is the email reply i got back:

Hello
I am glad to see how many people are interested in buying my car.The car is in immaculate condition and has no scratches on and hasn't been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. The tires are almost new.The car is very fast and extremely furious. You must know that now i am located in Copenhagen,Denmark.I got married and moved here two months ago.The final price is $4500.The price includes all shipping , handling and insurance charges.Shipping will be done via Lufthansa Air Cargo from Copenhagen,Denmark it is INSURED and it will take no more then 5 days.I have a friend at Lufthansa who will manage me a low price shipping and I assumed that it is from me to pay for shipping it.When I will shipp it,I will declare it as a gift so that you will pay no customs when you will receive it and for this it will be delivered directly to your address. I don't want to get rich by its selling, just want to give it to someone who will take good care. Because of my job I am traveling a lot and I can not stay home and expect to meet potential client. I'll also cover the fees for the ship and inssurance to your home adress.About the price...I am selling it at this price because it is difficult and expensive to transfer registrations from US to Copenhagen,Denmark .From the begining you have to know that for the payment I request ONLY secure pay.I prefer the payment to be hold by a third party like Alert Pay and only after you receive and test the car the payment has to be released to me.After you will receive the car you have 15 days to decide if you will buy it or no.PLease tell me what do u know about tha car because i don't want to sell it to somebody who doesn't know a thing about it.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Best Regards

any thoughts.. or do any of you guys know this person or a celica owner that went to demark??

You might as well wire the money straight into my bank account. At least I'll send you a thank you card.

I'll send you a nice framed picture of it. I'll even attach a patch of tire tread, Upper Deck card style.

haha i found another one for 4800 this time.. on car domain again and i emailed them again.. this time it was from louisana instead of illinios

Thank you for your interest in my car.
My name is Lucian Delma, the owner of the Celica.
I really hate to let it go but I must sell and what bothers me most is that I need to find a buyer over the Internet. I hope to take $4,800 for Celica.
However, this is the only way I will manage to do so since I recently moved to Denmark, Copenhagen due to work and family. Furthermore, I am a fresh daddy and I just don't have the time to enjoy the car either way (my loss is your gain). I know it may seem quite difficult to complete such a deal, but I can assure you that my intentions are very straight and serious. I don`t have relatives in the States anymore so I had to bring it with me. The car is still registered in the USA and if I`ll sell it to an American it will be easier for the both of us. I realize that the price is a little below Blue Book value but if I will try to sell it locally, bringing it to Denmark requirements, bodywork modifications and registration will be extremely expensive and nobody will purchase under these circumstances.I suppose that this means good news for you as the vehicle is in pristine condition, clear title, no dents or dings,no scratches and it has the original color too! Always adult driven and garaged, never abused or raced, it hasn't even seen rain! I want everything to work out well for both of us. I will take care of the shipping and handling because I understand that nobody will pay for it since I am the one fettered to sell overseas. I have posted it as being in US, since this is where the sale has to be consumed.
Let me know if you want to use Vehicle Purchase Protection , from Ebay because I want a safe deal for both of us.
If you accept my terms , please email me ASAP with your full name and address , so I can be able to start the deal and make a reservation at shipping co.
Please respond to my e-mail if you think we can make a deal.
Respectfully,
Luc D.

i think i'll get a better deal from you burrcold

so do you take monopoly money?

The I'm moving to Europe thing is almost always I scam. They can send you the car in pieces and you will be able to to absolutely nothing legally if they are out of country. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT do it. If it seems way too good to be tru it probably is.
