I just got my full kit. the cheapest concept shops going to cost me 300 to put it on.. so a few friends of mine and i are going to put it on ourselves.
Im just wondering the steps to taking the bumpers off and installing the new ones are..skirts too im sure we will figure it all out... but i just want some advice and tips or what not from those of you who already have put a kit on yourself... maybe even a walk through would be nice. and how hard is it going to be... and a stupid question just to make sure... the paint comes after the kit is on right? durrr

what kind of kit is it? For the sideskirts, you're gonna have to take off the stock sideskirt on the car (black unpainted plastic piece)
The front bumper is relatively simple, just take off the stock bumper and replace it with the new one, check for fitment. Is your kit fiberglass or polyurethane? If it's fiberglass, don't force it too much due to the fact that it WILL crack. The rear bumper is the same as the front, remove the taillights and then the rear bumper for ease of fitment. Again, if your kit is fiberglass, don't force it too much cause it will crack. Do fitment before painting the kit, if not, you will be painting the kit twice. Overall, if your kit has good fitment, it will take you 1 day to do ALL the fitment, with some beers and smokes, of course.

As for steps of taking your front bumper and rear bumper and sideskirts off, here it is.
Front bumper: - open the hood - there's some screws on the top and some screws and bolts at the bottom - remove them as you see them - for ease of fitment, you can take out the front headlight assembly too - where the bumper connects to the fenders, it's just 2 clips that hold it there, put a bit of force into pulling the bumper off, it will come off. - before pulling the bumper off completely, make sure you remove the corner lights from the light housing Side Skirts: - there's a clip in the front and a clip in the back, both located in the wheel well (undo those) - under the stock side skirts, there's approx 7-10 clips, you need to take these out too, be careful with them, don't force them too much cause they will break on you. Rear Bumper (unsure, someone please clarify for me, thanx) - there are come clips, screws, bolts around the wheel wells and inside the car (if i'm not mistaken)

I went with the blitz kit... i know everyone has it.. but il definatly be the only celica in my town with it. so thats okay.. and i think it has the most aggressive look to it..
i know everyones going to reply with "oh that was is soo overrated.." but i got the whole kit for under 400. it came cheap cause yeah it is fiberglass.. so i will be carefull. thanks.. ps. i rreally like your red skirts. they really make the car stand out without being too flashy

thanx. my idea is to go with the stock black gloss colour and a red lip kit. Thinking about doing the TRD Elegance kit. Where abouts did you get the kit for under $400? and the blitz kit is not overrated, in my opinion, however, with the HUGE front "mouth" part, you gotta get a turbo with a huge FMIC. :D

I don't think the kit is already painted, maybe primed, but not painted. Not for $400 anyways, i don't think.

then you are giving him terrible advice...
the kit should be painted by a shop and the cost of mounting will be a fraction of the cost of painting... we have a good shop here on CS and i would sugest you use em but you live to far away so find a shop near you.

how is it terrible advice? shouldn't the kit be fitted first before being painted? because once it's painted, and you do fitment and it doesn't fit properly, then you'd have to do come customization for it to fit, then you'd have to paint it again.

if you have ever dealt with a kit that cost $400 you'd know why...

i guess i can't speak much about it then. I've dealt with a $600 kit for an integra but it was painted (the guy assumed that the kit fitted perfectly) and when i did the custom fitting for him, i had to drill holes and forced the front bumper a bit too much and it cracked, so we had to fix that up and he had to get the kit re-painted.

yeah, see a body shop would have done more cutting and fiberglassing, these body kits are like cheap clothes and sho[s are like tailors, they take em in where needed nd mould them to the needed shapes...
my advice... don't bother trying it at home it will only cost you more, if it were and authentic kit maybe, but definatly not with a 400 knockoff.... oh and i am sure it's a knockoff casue there is no blitz kit for a celi.

no there isn't.... stop assuming you know something based on ebay...
http://www.blitz.co.jp/ it's a knock off remake for your car, blitz never made a celica kit... PERIOD.... for the record neither did buddy club, or nissan (gtr)
