*Price of Transmission Change*
I'm only 15 and I got really lucky and my parents are helping me pay for an 03 Celica GT with only 25k on it. But it came in and automatic. But the deal we got was unheard of. Only 13900. Does anyone know on average what a transmission change would cost including labor.
Thanks |

swap
well, first you need the tranny...do you want used or new..the probility for used might be hard to find for that year...check out for any damaged cars at scrap or accident cars...labour might run you between 4-6 hours and rate goes through who ever you go with...make sure you go with some with rep to them or dealeship will rape...you aslo need pedals also make sure the tranny comes witha shifter...you can always replace that later....also ask your parents if they want to adopt another kid!!! lol

with the abundance of 5-speeds out there, you're much better off getting a different celica. a transmission swap is feasable, but i wouldnt attempt it unless you have REALLY good connections with a mechanic that will do it for less than $1000 labor, and roughly 1000-1200 in parts assuming you find them all used.
no disrespect either, but i did my transmission swap on my camry when i was 19, and i did almost 6 months of research before i bought the first part. you being 15 and all, i really hope you are resourceful, patient, and persistant. not to mention, you'll need the blessing of your parents, to see if theyre willing to most likely void any warantee that may be left on the car. if you want further info, i documented my tranny swap: http://www.tt-cc.com/ratko/swap |

And he's a big headed nigaa on top of all that. Sell your car, for 16k, you can get that easily, buy my car for 18, it has everything done to it as far as performance, drivetrain, suspension goes. The exterior is left virtually untouched, so you can experiment with all the body kits your heart desires. The car has HID's as well.

Hey i did a complete swap to a 6spd on my auto GTS. Hehe u gonna need a hell lot more stuff than what was listed. It took me about 1month to collect everything. Anywayz if you re really serious, i recommend you to buy aftermarket clutch, flywheel, ecu, shortshifter, or LSD. The rest of the lil parts u can check on ** site. It is a sticky i post under Mods.
Alex from Alex performance exhausts did the swap for me so you mite want to go to him. At other shops you are looking at 2g for labour. Alex would do it for half.
