SS2 Problems !! Please Help

Hey Guys,

I could do with some help. (sorry for the long story)

i have SS2 Auto (3SGE) Jap Spec,RHD in the UK

Ive been having some weird noises from my front pass side. Similar to wheel bearing noise. Been to 3 garages for them to check it out, they cant find the cause. A week later the noise stops ? mmm

Two weeks later Im on the motorway, doing about 110 ish kmph (70mph) i hear a real loud grinding noise. ,this aint right. I try to slow down... no brakes,, !! i manage to pull into 2nd and apply parking brake. phew.

I get towed to a garage. The CV joint (drive shaft) has busted, wheel bearing busted, drive flange busted, brake pad carrier of the caliper busted. Discs (rotors) busted.

Im well stuck, I get all the parts from a local jap specialist, take them to the garage.
Guess what, wrong parts

drive Flange is slightly different from my original,I ran back and forth from the dealer to the garage around 10 times. I give up. I try another dealer with my busted drive flange and wheel bearing. They have no parts for a celica,, great ! :-(

So I ask have you parts for a Carina / Avensis ?

Yes, but they wont fit your celica he said ?

Let me see the parts(im getting desperate by now)

I cant believe it, the Carina/Avensis, Drive flange, Wheel bearing are exactly the same as the busted ones off my car.

So i think Im in luck... great. I take the parts to the garage. looking forward to have my car repaired.
They call me,,, problem again.
the Brake Pad carrier (part of caliper) i bought is too narrow and the discs/rotors wont turn. what ?

So please help... i need to find out how may variants of caliper there are..
the garage tell me i have a single piston caliper, the carrier i bought is from a twin piston caliper.

I assume that the carrier i bought is from a st185 with smaller rotors ?
Also can anyone tell me if all jap celicas have cross car line parts ie carina on celica vice versa

has anyone experienced this or similar

thanks
