Cup Holder

The pull-out cup holder on the 6th Gen Celica is such a poor piece of design and gets in the way of shifting. Taking the top (with the slide-out cup holder) off the storage box and using the box as a cup holder seems much more functional.

Is there an after market drop in cup holder for the storage box? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

I agree the cup holders suck, over here you can get cup holders that clip into the air vents, I haven't put one in my car but my husband has one in his and it's great. Just the right height when ya driving

When I had my Celica, I just put a little cupholder in my center console and ripped off the top part (it was the giant one anyways, very uncomfortable for shifting)

But I totally agree as well, they so badly get in the way whilst shifting or trying to do anything, even change CD's. Horrible design. At least they finally fixed it in the 7th gens.

My grandparents each have an 03 Eclipse and this is a prob there too. My grandmas is an auto, so it is okay there, but my grandad has a 5spd and you cant have a drink (unless it is a can, cause it can fit down in there) and shift. But no coffee ...

Everyone with a 1st shift job knows how important coffee is.
Good lord my MR2 has NO cupholders, I am hurting lol

At least we have cupholders. I laugh at my dad, he has a Saturn and he has NO cupholder, hahaha. He just uses the space next to the Ebrake though.

Well even in the 7th gen, seeing that i have one, i hate putting cups in the cup holder cause i like to rest my arm when i'm shifting and i have a twm ss in mine. It's hard to shift with a cup in there. Does anybody have any ideas as to where i can put a cup holder (i just need 1)? I'm probably gonna be making my cup holders into a cd holder.
