94 Celica Engine Rebuild?

Am looking to buy a Celica, this one i'm looking at has 265,000km (170,000miles).

I really love the 6th gen cars and am on a really tight budget. (only have 4500)

Was wondering if its worth buying this one for 3500, getting a major tuneup and then in 2-3 months down the road getting the engine rebuilt?

I don't have much experience working with cars but am hoping to learn as much as I can from friends and such.

Is it possible for me to do it on my own? Could use some input.

Thanks :D

Rebuilding the motor would be fairly pointless. For a full rebuild your looking at somewhere around 1200 inclusive. you can get a low milage import replacement for like $500 or you can get a front clip of an alltrac for around 2200 and swap it in.

You can do it on your own but make sure you lable everything. The parts for the rebuild are around $800 in total
