Re: supra celica rear end
Its been asked soo many times. Its a dumb question. I'm just gonna start being blunt. And saying your dumb. Its not feaseable for 98% of the moder comunity to do this. To even ask this question shows there expirence level. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm coming off as an ass but do homework before you ask shit like this. To even think about putting a 2j in. Your going to have to modify the chassy. Make a bell houseing for the transmission.get full new suspension. Engine mounts gas tank. Then there's a issue with the firewall. Even if you do do this there's the question of will the chassy be strong enough to handle the power. We got a unibody. So even modifying the cassy will weaken it. If you want a 2j get a supra or sc300 and stop watching f&f its all bullshit anyways. And for christ sake some of the supra's are swaping in 3s's anyways.

Re: supra celica rear end
Hey if the guy is serious its possible! guys convert their cars to AWD. I've seen a number of them done. If he is going to go balls out and go RWD with the 2jz I say I WANT PIC'S.
lot of pics A 6th gen GT4 rear end would work. not sure about drive the main drive shaft though

Re: supra celica rear end
i can understand being blunt, and yes im not as knowledgable as the next man about engins but i am a big thinker, ive seen a lot of impossible feats completed with my own eyes, on the other hand there is a certain level or respect that you must have when when your dropping knowledge whether the question is outlandish or just down right rediculous we both have a passion and thats cars, its amazing what ppl will say from the confort of their own homes or over the phone or even on a forum, im going to let your imagination wonder on that one, btw thanks for the knowledge and advise, now here is some for you, be careful who you insult on a public forum, you never know whom you might be talking to

Re: supra celica rear end
I'm not tryin to insult you. So I apologise for that one. But you gotta realise how often we get someone askin about a 2j. Its just not practicle for us to do. I see your at andrews afb. So your in the military. So you may have the knowlege and drive to do this. But mostly out of everyone that has asked. Its idle words that they never do. Id love for you to prove me wrong.
So may I ask what's your afsc if your in the airforce. I'm a 2a6x1 previously know as 2ax61b So once again I. Apologise.

Re: supra celica rear end
now I dont know, but is the 4a able to be used in a rwd configuration? as for rear diff, check out titan motorsports. and for that matter, wouldnt it be alot easier just to do a true gt4 clone.

Re: supra celica rear end
ill post up soon we were gonna do the 2jz swap but it just got real expesive real quike especially since most of the dam parts are all special order items and hard as hell to find anywhere other than dealership i was calculating an the cost outweighed the means im new to this forum but well knowlegable as far as engine swaps go so we went with the cheap horse power 383 chevy stroker since ive got lots of chevy parts an chasis to play with and its so cheap to fabricate the rear diff as i doubt the st205 would hold up to the power were putting out on our engine... are still trying to figure how not to ripp the dam car in half wich is a concern but subframming and renforcing not an issue i bought another 94 st and am using this for the mach up and cutting before i start cutting my baby up lol so much work has gone into it so far supra rear end conversion and highly modded 350z veilside front end im almost done fabbing on... so i kinda ramble a bit sometimes sorry check it out let me knw wut you guys think so far i havnt had time to post my engine build picts yet but i will just long way off from this at least a year before the completion but im not rushing sooo many projects to finish before we have enough money to finish this one but body wise 4-5 months before competion so apche if you have any questions about the 2jz let me know ill give wut information ive done as far as research but be aware very expensive not a cheap swap to do by any means
