Engine bog

Hey there everyone,

Just as a heads up...... I am the furthest knowing guy about the motors for the celicas. I have a 94 st202 with a 5sfe motor. I have had the timing, distributorm spark plugs and wires replaced about 6 months ago. everything was running fine untill last week when the motor started bogging down. When i start moving off a dead stop or sitting and i punch the gas, the car bogs and rattles a bit. I pulled the plugs and wires to see if they were bad..... they were fine. the cylinders didnt smell like they were swimming in gas (whatever that means), and the motor shakes a bit. No clue what is going on. any advice or know the answer to fixing this would be greatly appreciated. its been going on now for 1.5 weeks. Only i havent cheecked is the fuel pump, (no clue if i have to drop the tank or access it from in the car), and i havent pulled the injectors or rail.

try changing your fuel filter. its a easy and simple fix and sometimes is the solution. but i belive the 6th gen is like the 5th when it comes to swaping out fuel pumps. under the back seats there should be a access panel. i got some pics for ya

other then that its possibly a vacuum leak

sub your awesome. are there any hidden items i need to worry about for changing the filter? my buddies protege, lol protege, had security rings on some of the parts. is that the same as our units? once again, ur awesome!!

just as a note that pics on a 5th gen. But ima assume its pretty close on the 6th. As for the fuel filter. At least on the 5th gen the filter is located almost undeneith the charcole canister. Its held in by a clamp. There's a flex line on the top and hard line on the bottom. And that should be it. I found it easier to remove the whole fuel filter mounting assembly. Its held in by 2 bolts. Ill say again this is on the 5th it maybe diffrent on the 6th. Just look for things lol

just make sure you put out that smoke before you crack her open or BOOM!

Lol I'm a dragon dups I breathe smoke and fire lol. Guess I'm fucked either way.

haha gotta die of something! I use to smoke big time but quit 2 years ago. it was tough, even more so when I'd go drinking.. couldn't imagine drinking without smoking! or even working on my car and not smoking, it didnt seem right.. haha
