Angry Overheating

I just installed a new radiator as my old one cracked and my car has been fine until tonight
i was doing long distance and it started to overheat on the freeway
It was rapidly going from normal to over the red zone within a few seconds and kept going up and down the whole way
i could hear bubbling when i stopped and a kind of hissing from the cap
would it be my cap that not working properly?
also if i accelerated hard it would cool down for a few seconds then go back up
nothing else i did helped it
really frustrating and i dont wanna have to dish out the $$$ again after a new radiator
help please??

Re: Overheating

you either didn't fill your system all the way... or your cap is leaking... but either way there isn't enough coolant in the system

did you get a new cap when you got the new rad?

Re: Overheating

Did you get a new thermostat? Always get a new thermostat when you change water pump or rad.

I don't believe they are, they only fit in one way, picture them looking something like a bell.
