I've owned a 99 Celica GT for about a year now, and i am beginning to find the stock body a bit... boring. Can anyone explain the difference between the GT body and the import GT-4 body?

I like the front spoiler and the hood on the GT-4 and would like to install a kit that would give mine that look. I also plan in the future to do a 3S-GTE engine swap so i will need that hood or another aftermarket one to allow the turbo to breathe.

UPDATE: I feel i was unclear on what exactly i was asking. Are the dimensions of the bodies different in the ST204 and the ST205?

Hey,

Well, you can pickup the gt-4 hood and bumper as a C5 kit from Wicked Bodies or the whole kit. I am thinking of the same thing. Doing the gt4 conversion. The only thing that i ran into was the bumper mounts. I have to order new hardware for my car.

Have fun with the car and the motor swap you want to do will be awesome in this body style. Let me know how hard it is for the motor swap. I thought about doing a swap myself from the 5sfe motor to something more powerful and playful for upgrades.

the c5 kit is figerglass and is not the oem st205 front end check out 6gc.net if you want a real gt4 front end

i've found some good information as far as the motor swap and tuning the 3s-gte

Toyota Celica Online: 3SGTE swap

as far as the body situation goes; i've looked at the C5 kit before, but it only fits the ST205 which is exactly the reason i started this thread. I want to know the difference between a ST204 and a ST205.

ok well theres wikipedia for that but lets start here

ST205
-3sgte
-4wd
-2 piston front calipers
-diff front end(grill for air flow)
-the gt4 hood
-the gt4 spoiler (2 post spoiler on risers)
-no sunroof

ST204
-5sfe
-fwd
-single piston caliper
-regular/pre facelift<--yours
-basic hood
-basic spoiler(2 or 3 post spoiler)
-sunroof
