Previous 5gen owner, needs advice on 6gen purchase

I have owned 2 5gens, then an audi ford, honda prelude, and im back again... Tell me what you guys would pay for a 1996 celica st with 116,000 miles on it, red hatchback with all maintenance records, timing belt has 30,000 and 1 year on it. What do you guys think? It does need struts, and has a small dent on the drivers fender... but the rest is mint, from lines to hoses... And it has a 30 day warranty with it... im in us miles and dollars! THANKS

Im not settling to be honest, i can use the gas mileage, however i do like 5 speed much better, and the 5sfe, but i can get this one for 2,900. The old man that i am getting it from doesnt understand what the car is worth... so im getting a deal

The only advantage an ST has is weight. Its lacking everything else. Take it for a test drive and see how you like it. The 7A-FE should be pretty good at lowend.

In that case, go for it. You can get turbo manifold for the 7A and it can take 10psi.

Re: Previous 5gen owner, needs advice on 6gen purchase

I have a 1995 Celica ST 5-speed that I bought 5 years ago with 53,000 miles on it....i have it up to 102,000 now and have not had any issues with it......one thing I do like about mine is the fuel efficiency...I put $120 under the hood to replace plugs, plug wires, and the air filter and I consistently hit 33-35 combined city/highway miles and recently hit 40mpg highway driving.

I am planning on tuning mine up for a little more performance, but for what it is, I love it....I paid $7k for mine 5 years ago in good condition (but i also bought it from the dealership i was working for)

the big thing that kept me off of the GT at the time was insurance.....3x as much for the GT as the ST.....
