Canada Ignition Coil Fix

Hey there everyone,

Well i am posting this email because I have hit a big snag with my celica. My car completely died on its own when i was leaving the local mall. I have been told that my coil will cost me $300 after taxes and labour. Also, I have been told that my timing belt has to be changed due to normal maintenance. I was told that it would cost me like $900 - $1200 after taxes and labour. Is this normal????? Am I able to do the work on my own???? Please let me know if I can do it in my drive way and if I can do my timing belt in the driveway to. I know that i will have to vbring it to a mechanic for the timing to be done if I do it.

Thanks in advance. If you want to email me directly, please let me know.

Re: Ignition Coil Fix

The coil is not that difficult, if you had some people to help you and a chiltons manual you may be able to do the timing belt yourself.
