Hi guys. I really need your help on this.
I have a Celica GT/94 with the following symptoms: -Loud Engine noise (Looks like Iam driving on first gear all the time) The noise is the same when Iam on first, second.....and fith gear. -The RPM gauge is @ 4000 when I am driving around 70 miles per hour and over, but goes down to 1000 RPM everytime that I change gears. -Last week while I was driving downhill @ 70 miles per hour I placed the car in neutral and the RPM gauge went down to 1000 RPM, but the engine noise was still the same. -If I acelerate the car in neutral position (car not moving) the engine noise is normal. Note: I replaced the clutch around 2 months ago. Can you please help me?...or is there no hope? Kori ![]() |

Re: Loud Engine
Hi guys,
I could not wait any longer so today I went to the Toyota Dealer and this was the diagnostic: NEEDS DRIVER SIDE HUB AND BEARING REPLACED. THEN TEST DRIVEN TO DETERMINE IF PASSENGER HUB AND BEARING ARE FAILING. Cost for the Diagnosis: $75.00 Cost of repair: $430 for each side. I am thinking of fixing it myself. Any advise? Kori. |
