Unhappy Newb with mods ^_^

Hey im a big newb when it comes to modding cars (engine) and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, i just recently bought a 93' celica completly stock. All i really know how to do is body work and was thinking i can do that first since it'll be a cheap / nice way to look diffrent. Wonderin if anyone can hook me up with some mods i can do to give it a nice sound, + i want some speed behind my looks, no engine swaps and maybe ina a budget of 2k? alone on engine mods. The car is in beautiful shape for 1.2k. Hope to hear youre opinions, Thanx

-Nick

oh and i also need some Dash options, it was really messed up by sun damage, but it's all there. Yay for miami

Theres not much you can do to this engine performance wise you can get exhaust headers fabricate your own CAI or just buy a K&N box filter works just as well for me and it fits right into the stock box and gives off a nice low sound, other than that you CAN turbo a 5sfe which is what you have if youve got a GT but its not recommended b/c of the long term problems.... if you want speed you need the 3sgte swapped in itll bolt right in and its stock 200-245 hp depending on generation of the engine and its turbo'd and i THINK stock it pushes what 5 psi? ask some of the Gurus here they can tell you more about it

im running a 1990 celica all trac and it pushes 9 psi can push up to 12 before fuel cut once u get a fuel cut defencer you can push 14 safely on stock everything. If you have just a stiock 5sfe modding is pretty tough unless like the one guy said get it SCHWAPPED with a
3sgte its pretty pricey but well worth it. Ummm air intake headers exhaust redo all your ignition - wires, plugs, rotor. then honestly with the 93 gts be one of the all SHow no Go still one of the best looking cars i think out there when done up right cus they are pretty scarce youll get looks trust me

Hey guys, thnx for all the support. Im just going to go with the usual upgrades mentioned ( i dont mind being all looks and no speed :P , Also i drove it home today for the first time and i noticed when i take off passing first gear it kicks as if it had a supercharger, is that normal on all GT's? or is it that my car is fcuked up ? lol :: scared :: hope i dont have to fix something :(

Any one have any decent sites. they can pm me for parts? and Matt i think it was. the K&N box filter will that increase the same amount of HP as the CAI?

I dont know the diff in horse power but in the GT it has a stock sorta CAI because the intake comes in behind the headlight..... can one of gurus help me out here im not sure whether there is much difference or not... its enough hp increase for me but i dunno bout you.... and whether you know it or not its just a replacement for ur stock air filter and u just clean it instead of buying another one and it let air flow through better its made out of the same material as cone filters
