brakes and axles

I have a 93 Celica GT convertible. I called to order new axles because mine are popping like crazy and the dude asked me if I had ABS brakes. Is there an easy way to tell if I do? If I have to remove the wheel what should I look for? Also does anyone know where a good write-up is on changing the axles or have any tips/advice otherwise. Thanks!

The ABS light on your dash should light up if you have ABS. And I'm sure someone else on here could tell you what to look for in your engine bay or behind your wheel.

Go for a drive in wet, gravel, sand road. Hard the brake hard when its safe to do so. If the padel bounce while you holding it down and tire don't slide, you got ABS. Also you can see teeth aroung the axle/hub if you have ABS.

you can also pop your hood and see if there is a ABS unit. its a big giant box with lots of hard lines coming off it.

Changing axels is easy.....

Jack up car and remove wheels
Have someone step on break and remove the axel nuts.
remove the two 22mm bolts in the syspension.
get underneath car with 2 small pry bars and pop axel out of tranny. remove axel from hub and install new ones....

put it back together

Y, it has a light and it's on all the time.. BUT this car has a rebuilt title so I have no idea if this is even the original dash or anything else. I've never felt the abs engage, but then I'm not sure I would notice since I've never had a car w/ abs before.

It is right behind the right side [if your sitting in the car] headlight.
Between it and the strut tower.

If your abs doesnt' work[and you don't want it back], or you dont have it, it wont' matter which you get.
The only difference is the toothed ring on the out joint of the abs axles.
