Has anyone with the 3SGTE setup in the front wheel drive raced against a stock SRT-4 neon ?
I was wondering how it would run against that car with about the same hp ???

I think it would be close and the neon would win. But modding both equally I believe the 3s would win.

i have raced a srt and it lost, i have an st with a custom exhaust a cai and omnipak for the spark plugs

you beat em with an ST??
how can a 130 hp and torque car with bolt on mods like exhaust and intake take on a car that is like 225hp and 245 torque stock. Sure the neon weighs in at 2900 lbs, but the ST isnt as much bang per pound. must have been a weak driver, if both cars are driven by good drivers, you shouldn't even come close

You must have raced the SRT-4 in a parking lot...while it was parked.

5th gen ST is 1.6L 4A-FE with 103HP and 100ftlb torque. Don't think it can beat anything.

swapped celica is 1sec. faster
srt-4 comes weights in at about 3100lbs on 12lbs stock
swapped celica weights in at about 2700 to 2800 on 8lbs stock

After intake & exhaust theres no reason you couldn't walk on one then turn up the boost and its not even a race anymore

my statment was previously he would have him by a full second...i stand by that estimate even if the altrac is a heavier car than a swapped celi it's traction makes up for it on the track.

half track will not run 14's unless it's got alot more than a stock motor and fuel setup. srt will run 14's on the way home from purchace

no fuel upgrades needed, with i/e it will be a staight drivers race, turn up the boost to 12, and you would definately walk one.

3SGTE = A shitload more top enditely, this is where we would really walk them. That 260 lbs of torque from the factory gives them a pretty good 2nd gear start. But its still fwd

srt-4 is a poor man's dream to go fast. It's not worthy of racing.

but for arguments sake,

1990 Toyota Celica All-Trac 0-60 7.5 1/4mile 15.7 s (prolly around 3300lbs??)
2005 neon SRT-4 0-60 5.8 seconds 1/4 mile 14.2 s (~3100lbs)
(as previously mentioned)

specs on my cars

94 subaru legacy 2.2L turbo : 1/4 mile 17.7s (160hp, 181 ft/lbs torque, ~3300lbs)
76 toyota celi 2.2L N/A : 1/4 mile 18.6s (96 hp, 120 ft/lbs torque, ~2700lbs)

that's about 60 less in hp and torque and 600lbs, makes 1 sec difference.

so say a celi weighing
