Battery drainage!!! :(
Ok, i thought i had fixed the problem of why my battery drains, but i was wrong. What it does is it holds its charge as long as I dont start the car. As soon as I run the car, and then shut it off (even if i drive the car), the battery will be completely dead within an hour or less. And as its obvious i cant rely on driving around with this problem because I might get stuck somewhere with a dead battery. And im painting my car within a few days or so and possibly getting it on the road soon, I NEED HELP, im guessing and hoping its just the alternator but have a feeling its something else. Thanks

Could be worth checking the distilled water levels and top-up if low.

i agree with locker without the alternator putting power the car will run strait off the battery. does the car die while it is running or only after you shut it off does it not start?

For sure, alternator, starter of faulty battery. Your alternator, is what charges the battery when the car is running. Your starter might be faulty as well, pulling too much current from a low charged battery, or its the battery itself.
Try charging the battery with the charger set to trickle over night. This is a very slow charging method, but works much better than rapid charging.

ok heres what i do usually. i got a brand new battery, and i charge it on high for a few days straight. then i leave it off the charger for at least 3 days and it holds charge. when i start the car and run it for a minut, then turn it off, the better dies soon, but it doesnt die right away because i can start the car again right after i turn it off. so its definately not the battery.Ill check the ground to the alternator and see if that could be it.

I believe, also, that it would be the alternator. I broke the belt in my ol' vw for the alt. somewhere between barrie and here (roughly 2 hour drive), the car didn't start to die until I was just about home, but if I let it sit, the battery would charge enough for me to drive it for 5 mins, then just die again. I ended up giving up and sleepin in the back of the car, outside of a subway resturaunt, lol.
also you shouldn't charge a regular car battery like that TRD is right, trickle charge is best. Your liable to make the insides bubble, and wreck the battery, (sorta the same reason you aren't suppose to throw your AA batteries in a fire). now if you had a deep cycle battery (ie Optima yellow top), they liked to be charged on high. also few days straight is a little excessive, maybe 24 hours max.
